I was born in Puerto Rico. The sound of the ocean and breeze is literally engraved in my brain. As a little girl, I would spend hours playing in the sand and water in the gorgeous beaches of "the old country". Often, as many little girls do, I would pretend I was a #Mermaid gliding through the water wishing I could breathe underwater and explore the depths of the unknown.
I never let this dream go. As an adult I still find myself spending much time in the water especially in the summer as I now live in the Midwest. I constantly am rolling my eyes every time someone claims they go to "the beach" which really means Lake Michigan. However, when I saw an episode of #KUWTK ( Keeping up with the Kardashians) I noticed they had hired 2 "mermaids" to swim around their pool in full-blown mermaid tails & tops for North & Penelope's Bday. I was so amazed that someone made this contraption to make it look like you were a real-life mermaid!
As I watched the episode, I thought that I should do that for my princess Nairobi. I have a 4-year-old daughter who loves the water as much as I do! Little did I know that a few months later, I wouldn't be hiring but that I would actually be putting on a mermaid tail myself and take my inner child out for a swim! Cue in Aquamermaid Chicago!
I was excited to find out that they were holding Mermaid Swim Classes not too far from me at Aquamermaid Chicago. Being a new concept, I did my research & jumped on it right away. I brought along my niece Denver because...why not? ( I doubt my 13-year-old son would have strapped on a Mer-man Tail!)
Below is a recap of my experience with Aquamermaid.com...take a look!
