With the world events going on right now, we as a society have been forced to slow down. The lockdown has forced many of us to find ways to stay sane and entertained while we heal ourselves and practice social distancing.
I've been trying to find things and activities to not only keep my kids entertained but myself as well. I have started to turn to those things that bring me happiness and calmness. Surprisingly, my childhood pastimes have crept back up in a mature way.
As a kid, I enjoyed planting and gardening. By the time I was in 4th grade I had successfully grown a sunflower 🌻 from a tiny seed in a milk carton to a giant 4ft beauty that brightened my day every morning ☀️ when I would head off to school.
Lately, I’ve been getting back around the mentally planning my garden once I move and have the space. To satisfy my itch temporarily, I have become fixated with terrariums and miniatures.
Over the weekend, I visited my local Dollar Tree 🌳 and grabbed a couple of items to start my newly rekindled love for these old friends of mine. Check out my first ever terrarium...not too bad huh! I know as I master stillness, learn how to use all these little tools and gather the right items, they will start to look better and better! Leave a comment below with tips or pics of your terrariums or favorite pastime during this time!
